Applying to the Washington Seminar
Interested students are strongly encouraged to read the prospective student page prior to applying.
To be considered for the Washington Seminar (internship
in Washington, D.C.) you must meet the following requirements:

You must be a currently enrolled BYU student who has completed
(or will have completed during the semester of the application deadline)
at least one semester of course work at BYU.

You must have at least 60 graded credits on your transcript at
the time of application, including current enrollment at BYU and transfer
credit from other universities or colleges but excluding Advanced Placement
credits.
- You must have a cumulative 3.0 grade point average.

You must be enrolled as a full-time BYU student during the
semester or term you will be on the Washington Seminar.
Application deadlines:
- Fall semester - February 1
- Winter semester - October 1
- Spring-Summer terms combined or just one term - November 1
- If the application deadline falls on a Saturday or Sunday, applications will be accepted the Monday following.

Note that some internships have earlier deadlines (i.e. U.S. Department
of State). Check the Internship Database in the Washington Seminar office
(976 SWKT) to see if any of the internships you are applying to have earlier
deadlines. If so, submit your completed Washington Seminar application at
least two weeks prior to that deadline.

- Access the Washington Seminar application packet by clicking below.
- Carefully follow each direction and fill out each section as completely as possible.

When you have finished a section, it will go down to the done section. When
your letters of recommendation and transcripts are received in the Washington Seminar
office, they will go down to the done section.

When you are finished, you will need to come into the Washington Seminar Office
in 944 SWKT and sign your papers.
- You will be contacted to schedule an applicant interview. Do not assume your application has been received and accepted unless you have been scheduled for the interview.
